Greg Burke President,CEO & Founder shock sound promotions Greg was introduced to the world of urban music marketing and promotions at the ripe old age of 14 by one of the pioneers of hip hop concerts in upstate New York, Ron Cunningham. The late '80s and early '90s saw Greg take his DJ skills to a higher level. He played at neighborhood house parties and built a name for himself while still assisting regional promoters with marketing for major hip hop tours coming through upstate New York. The mid-90's saw Greg continue to deejay parties even while still in school. After graduation, Greg was hired by Houston-based powerhouse label Rap-a-Lot. Greg's work with Rap-a-Lot helped pave the way for other southern hip-hop artists to recieve national attention in the northeast US. Also in 1992 Greg served as the national director of promotions and oversaw artist management during his tenure with Toronto, Canada based Groove-a-Lot Records.Groove-a-Lot artists Ghetto Concept won back-to-back Juno Awards (the Canadian music equivalent of a Grammy) in 1994 and 1995. Greg parlayed his years of experience into his own upstart company, Unlimited Concepts---now shock sound promotions. Unlimited Concepts started out as a street-level marketing and concert promotions firm and has grown into shock sound promotions. Greg's vision for shock sound promotions is to promote urban music artists through spins, rotation and visibility. As a DJ, Greg feels an artist or a promoter can have no stronger asset than a DJ doing promotions for them. If you check his resume, you have a track record and blueprint of the man who can help your urban artist gain spins, rotation and visibility for your next single, album or project. |
